16 July 2008 · Delegated
5, Eastfield, Douglas, Isle Of Man, IM1 4au
This application sought permission to install replacement windows and a French door on the front elevation of 5 Eastfield, Douglas, a three-storey terraced dwelling facing south-east onto Eastfield, opposite allotment gardens. During the application, the dormer design was revised to a form similar to the dormers at the neighbouring No. 4 Eastfield. A site visit found that windows along the street vary considerably with no single recurring style, which supported the acceptability of the proposed changes. The application was permitted on 16 July 2008 under delegated authority, subject to three conditions.
The application was permitted on 16 July 2008 by a delegated Senior Planning Officer. The officer noted that the street has a mixture of different window styles with no recurring theme, meaning the replacement windows and French door would not appear out of place. The dormer design was also revised during the application to align more closely with the dormers at the neighbouring property, No. 4 Eastfield.
