3 April 2007 · Committee
Isle Of Man Government, Department Of Transport/Drainage Division, Meary Veg, Balnahowe, Santon, Isle Of Man, IM4 1hl
This application sought permission to install an additional cake silo at Meary Veg Sewage Treatment Works, located on the eastern side of the A25 Old Castletown Road in Santon, Isle of Man. The site is accessed via a concrete road that connects with the local public footpath network. The officer noted that the proposed silo is not a minor structure — it matches the scale of the existing silo already present on site. The officer also observed that the new silo would be more visible from the south west compared to the existing one, as the adjacent building is lower in height. The Planning Committee permitted the application in April 2007, with three conditions attached to the approval.
