7 December 2005 · Delegated
1, Rowany Villas, Port Erin, Isle Of Man, IM9 6lj
The proposal is the erection of a replacement garage in the rear yard of the curtilage of an existing end of terrace property on the northern side of Rowany Villas, along from the Ocean Castle Hotel towards the end of a cul-de-sac. The former garage had been blown away in bad weather at the start of the year. The new garage would be less than 6m by 6m and could be erected under the PDO except that it is alongside the rear lane. Although getting in and out of the garage looks tight, it was noted that it was clearly managed previously. The Department approved the application.
The Department approved the application for a replacement garage. The approval wording confirms permission was granted under the relevant powers and the portal status is marked as Permitted. The decision notice indicates the Department of Local Government and the Environment approved the proposal, and the key issues recorded relate to replacement of the former garage and the effects of siting alongside the rear lane. The formal decision record lists 3 conditions.
