Permission was granted for the erection of a cattle shed at Baljean Farm, Baldhoon Road, Laxey. The application was decided by the Planning Committee on 27 October 2005. The main planning concern was the potential visual impact of the shed on the ridgeline above Laxey. The case officer noted that while the building would probably be visible from some distant locations, no specific such viewpoint could be readily identified during assessment. Permission was granted with three conditions, which included screen planting around the building to help reduce its visual impact on the surrounding landscape.
