Edd Ny Foillan, 7, Taubman Terrace, Douglas, Isle Of Man, IM1 5bb
This application sought approval in principle to convert a terraced dwelling at 7 Taubman Terrace, Douglas into two apartments. The site is the curtilage of a terraced house on the south side of Head Road, with rear access available for bin storage and collection. The case officer recommended refusal, identifying the absence of off-street parking as a key concern and noting that reliance on on-street parking would add to existing difficulties in the area. Despite that recommendation, the Planning Committee decided to approve the application. The decision was made by the Committee constituted under the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982, and permission was granted subject to three conditions.
The Planning Committee approved the application in principle to convert the dwelling into two apartments. This was despite the case officer recommending refusal, citing the absence of off-street parking and the risk that on-street parking would add to existing difficulties in the area.
