Permission was granted for the erection of a farm workshop building at Knockaloe Beg Farm, Knockaloe Beg Lane, Raggatt, Peel, Isle of Man. The decision was made by a Senior Planning Officer under delegated authority on 14 July 2009. The farm is situated to the west of The Raggatt alongside a public highway, with the proposed building sited in a walled field to the south of the existing group of farm buildings. The officer considered the proposal acceptable on the basis of an established agricultural need and the building's sympathetic relationship with the surrounding landscape and built environment. Five conditions were attached to the permission. There is relevant planning history at the site, with three previous applications recorded.
The application was approved by a Senior Planning Officer under delegated authority. The officer found that there was a genuine agricultural need for the building and that its design would be sympathetic to the surrounding landscape and built environment.
Condition 1
The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
Condition 2
This approval relates to the erection of a farm workshop building, Knockaloe Beg Farm, Knockaloe Beg lane, Raggatt, Patrick as shown by the plans and information Location, Site, Plans/Elevations and applicant Letter all received 6th April 2009.
Condition 3
The building must only be used for agricultural purposes.
Condition 4
The roof must be finished in dark natural slate.
Condition 5
The southern and eastern elevations of the building must be finished in traditionally laid manx stone. NOTE: Split stone on a backing render is not acceptable as an external finish.
