3 December 2007 · Delegated
Grenaby Mooar Grenaby Ballasalla Isle Of Man IM9 3bd
Permission was granted for an extension to an existing agricultural building at Grenaby Mooar, Grenaby, a farmyard made up of a large farmhouse and a mix of stone and modern outbuildings on the western side of Grenaby Road. The site sits within an area classed as white land under the Isle of Man Planning Scheme, meaning it is not formally designated for development. Despite this, the proposal was found acceptable because the building stands well back from the road, meaning the extension would not be visible from it. The officer also noted that the alterations would have no effect on the operation or enjoyment of tourist accommodation in a nearby converted barn. The application was decided under delegated authority and approved with three conditions.
The application was approved by delegated authority. Although the site sits on land not designated for development under the Isle of Man Planning Scheme, the extension was considered acceptable because it would not be visible from the road and would not affect the nearby tourist units in the converted barn.
