18 December 2007 · Delegated
7, Eastfield, Douglas, Isle Of Man, IM1 4au
Permission was granted for the installation of replacement windows to the second-floor dormer at 7 Eastfield, Douglas, Isle of Man. The officer's report noted that the replacement dormer windows were designed to match those at the neighbouring property, No. 9 Eastfield, which had recently received planning permission for similar works. This consistency with the established character of the road was a key consideration. The proposal was also found to enhance the appearance of the application site within the Conservation Area and to sit comfortably within the street scene. The decision was made under delegated authority and three conditions were attached to the permission.
The application was approved on 18 December 2007 under delegated authority. The replacement dormer windows were considered acceptable because they match the design of dormers already approved at a neighbouring property, No. 9 Eastfield, and were judged to enhance the appearance of the site within the Conservation Area and the wider street scene.
