In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mrs A E Kearsley Proposal: Installation of replacement windows at: 6 Sherwood Terrace Douglas Isle Of Man IM2 4EN
which was considered on 6th November 2007, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 12th November 2007
Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas (Signature)
Deputy Secretary to the Planning Committee (Signature)
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- The replacement windows would fail to replicate the method of opening or delicate glazing bar pattern of the original existing windows and as such would fail to preserve or enhance the conservation area to the visual detriment of the street scene.
Note This refusal is without prejudice to a subsequent planning application for replacement windows which replicate the method of opening, delicate glazing bar pattern and material of the original windows. It should be noted that grant assistance for such replacement windows is available.
This decision was made by the Director of Planning and Building control in accordance with the authority delegated to him under Article 3(13) of the Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
