7 March 2007 · Delegated
Field 530255, Lanjaghan Road, Abbeylands, Isle Of Man, IM4 5ef
Permission was granted for the erection of an agricultural-style shed at Field 530255, Strenaby Farm, Abbeylands, Onchan. The shed was intended to serve as a covered menage area and for agricultural storage. The site forms part of the land and buildings associated with Strenaby Farm, towards the northern end of Abbeylands, with fields stretching back from the Abbeylands Road. A key planning consideration was that the site falls within an Area of High Landscape or Coastal Value and Scenic Significance. The application was decided under delegated authority and approved with four conditions. The officer recommended approval and the final decision matched that recommendation.
The application was permitted by the Director of Planning and Building Control under delegated authority. The site sits within an Area of High Landscape or Coastal Value and Scenic Significance, and the officer considered the proposal acceptable in that context. No refusal reasons were recorded.
