24 January 2007 · Delegated
Office Workshop & Premises, Stanley Road, Peel, Isle Of Man, IM5 1ny
This application sought permission to build two single-storey light industrial units on land off Stanley Mount, Peel, along with additional car parking, landscaping, and a widened site entrance. The application was refused on 24 January 2007. The decision-maker found that the internal road within the site was too narrow and that the arrangements for parking and manoeuvring delivery vehicles were inadequate. As a result, vehicles would be expected to queue to enter and leave the site and to park on the adjacent public highway. This congestion was judged likely to cause noise and disturbance to residents of nearby properties, harming their amenity, and to create an unsafe situation on the highway.
The application was refused because the internal roadway was too narrow and the parking and manoeuvring arrangements for delivery vehicles were unsatisfactory. This would cause vehicles to queue and park on the adjacent highway, creating congestion, noise, and disturbance harmful to nearby residents and to highway safety.
