9 October 2006 · Delegated
Sailmaker House, Carrs Lane, Tromode, Douglas, Isle Of Man, IM4 4qb
This was a retrospective application for the use of Unit H, Tromode Estate, Douglas, for the operation of a vehicle hire, sales and repair business. Because the use had already begun, the applicant sought formal permission after the fact. The case officer assessed the impact of the business on the wider estate and found it was not causing undue disruption to neighbouring units or businesses. The unit also had its own dedicated customer parking spaces, in addition to the general parking available across the estate. Permission was granted in October 2006, with two conditions attached, by the Director of Planning and Building Control acting under delegated powers.
The application was approved by the Director of Planning and Building Control under delegated authority. The officer found that the vehicle hire, sales and repair business was not unduly affecting other units or businesses on the estate, and that adequate customer parking was available at the unit itself.
