In pursuance of his powers under the above Acts and Order the MINISTER for Local Government and the Environment, following report by the appointed person, does hereby REFUSE the application by Mr. D. G. Mather – Conversion of existing warehouse and bathroom and tile showroom, Units E & F, Tromode Estate, Carrs Lane, Tromode, Douglas, for the following reasons:-
- The introduction of retail uses to this area at this time would be contrary to the adopted policy preserving this area for industry and warehouses.
- There should not be a loss of zoned industrial land to retail uses at this time, when there is an acknowledged shortage of industrial land.
