For the attention of the Secretary to the Planning Committee.
Maughold Parish Commissioners held a meeting to consider planning issues on Monday 3rd July 2006, and would like to submit comment on the following application:
06/00944/B Alterations and extension to garage, Primrose Lodge, Maughold.
The Commission would like to draw the attention of the Planning Committee to the prominent position the property holds in this exposed area of high landscape value and ask them to carefully consider the visual impact of the proposals.
The changes proposed appear to be further additions to approvals granted on 03/0492, 04/1921 and 05/0382.
The Commission has no real concern with the proposed increase in floor area of the garage; which will mean extension to the rear and will be largely unseen.
They have concerns with the proposal to raise the aspect of the garage roof to such a height.
Significant Material changes to the building have already been approved, and the Commission feel that any further increase in the size of the frontal aspect of the property would cause it to be out of keeping in the surrounding area.
