28 April 2006 · Delegated
22, Banks Howe, Onchan, Isle Of Man, IM3 2et
The proposal involved removing an existing window and the surrounding brickwork on the rear elevation of a large detached single-storey bungalow at 22 Banks Howe, Onchan, and installing hardwood double doors of the same width in their place. The purpose was to create disabled access to the property. The officer assessed the change as a very minor alteration to the rear of the building, finding it would cause no adverse impact to the property itself or to neighbouring properties. On that basis, the application was recommended and approved under delegated authority.
The officer concluded that replacing the window with double doors of the same width was a very minor rear-elevation alteration with no harmful impact on the property or its neighbours. The proposal was considered appropriate and was permitted with two standard conditions.
