Permission was granted for the erection of ramps and steps to improve disabled access at Foxdale Primary School, Mines Road, Foxdale, Isle of Man. The proposal involved creating five ramped accesses, positioned on each side of the school building. The officer's assessment found that none of the ramps would adversely affect the appearance of the building, while the works would greatly improve accessibility for disabled users. The school occupies a site designated as Primary School and Playing Field in the Foxdale Local Plan. The decision was made under delegated authority and was subject to two conditions.
The application was approved on 13 February 2006 by the Director of Planning and Building Control under delegated authority. The officer concluded that the five ramped accesses, one on each side of the building, would not harm the appearance of the school while significantly improving disabled access.
