Officer's Report
The application seeks approval for revisions to the car parking layout and the erection of boundary walling, fencing and gates for a residential development in Ramsey.
In terms of planning history, approval for the erection of two apartment blocks containing fifteen apartments was previously granted through the approval of PA 01/00884/B. Approval for elevational amendments to that development was subsequently granted through the approval of PA 03/01745/B.
There is one objection to the planning application, from a local resident. They are concerned about the height of the wall, the extent of the wall, the appearance of the gates and the position of the car parking. Based on the tone of their letter I would suggest that they have not actually looked at the submitted drawings.
I consider the development proposed by this planning application to be acceptable. In my opinion the increase in parking provision by two spaces is a positive benefit and the proposed walling, fencing and gates is acceptable. I recommend that the planning application be approved.
