Officer's Report
The application is for the erection of a first floor side extension above the existing garage for additional living accommodation, and alterations which include the reduction of the garage entrance. Bramble Tor Tromode Park is a detached property in a residential area.
The proposed first floor extension will have the same dimensions as the existing ground floor garage. It is proposed to have two windows / dormers on the front elevation and a window on the rear elevation. The alterations are of the garage door width to 3.092 metres. The application also proposes the installation of two velux roof lights in the rear of the existing roof of the dwelling.
The Douglas Corporation have no objection to the application. There are no objections from the surrounding neighbours.
The proposals would seem appropriate in these locations as the have no adverse impact from overlooking or a detrimental impact on the appearance of the street scene or that of the property. Therefore my recommendation is for an approval of the application.
