Department Of Local Government And The Environment ### Memorandum To: Director of Planning and Building Control From: Mrs Fiona Mullen, Planning Officer Ref: PA/05/01502 – St. Germans Cathedral, Derby Road, Peel. Date: 8th May 2006 Planning permission and Registered Building Consent was granted in February 2006 for Alterations to north entrance, introduction of paving setts, forming new steps and disabled ramp, relocation of car parking (with additional spaces and landscaping) and relocation of lamp post and flag pole (amendments to approved 02/00692), at St Germans Cathedral, Peel. Condition No’s 1 – 4 required details to be submitted prior to commencement of the work and such details have now been submitted. With regard to Condition No. 1, a sample of red sandstone effect concrete has been submitted. The submitted and approved plans indicate “red sandstone finish random paviours” and on that basis it is considered that the sample submitted complies with that condition. Condition No. 2 seeks the submission of a photographic record of the existing. Photographs have been submitted that comply with that condition. Condition No. 3 requested details of the materials and finish to the side of the disabled ramp. The applicant’s agent advises that the side of the disabled ramp will be finished with reused natural red sandstone and this has been confirmed in a telephone conversation. It is considered that the details submitted comply with the condition. With regard to Condition No. 4, the applicant’s agent advises that this condition cannot be complied with until such time as the existing handrail is removed from the present wall and set on the ground. At that point, the hand rails will be repaired as required at which time it will be possible to ascertain how to fix the handrail. It is consider that the submission complies with Condition No’s 1 -3 with Condition No. 4 outstanding.
