21 February 2006 · Committee
St Germans Cathedral, Derby Road, Peel, Isle Of Man, IM5 1hh
This application sought permission for a series of amendments to a previously approved scheme (02/00692) at St. German's Cathedral in Peel. The works included alterations to the north entrance, introduction of paving setts, new steps and a disabled ramp, relocation of car parking with additional spaces and landscaping, and relocation of a lamp post and flag pole. The site sits within the curtilage of St. German's Cathedral, described as a prominent and important Registered Building. Facilitating use by disabled persons was identified as a key issue in the officer's assessment, and the scheme was revised during the process to address officer concerns.
The Planning Committee permitted the application on 21 February 2006. The works amended a previously approved scheme and were accepted as appropriate changes to a prominent Registered Building, with improving disabled access identified as a key planning consideration.
