Officer's Report
The site represents the curtilage of an existing dwelling, "Crofton", situated on the eastern side of the Crofts within Castletown's Conservation Area.
Proposed here is the installation of a meter box on the side elevation (facing north) behind a hedge which should screen what little may be seen from public view. The box would be 600mm high and 410 wide. It is a shame that such structures need to be erected at all, particularly alongside such attractive properties as this. However the siting is discreet and is in between bushes alongside the house so even from the perspective of the householder, this structure should not adversely affect the appearance of the property more than is absolutely necessary.
