Officer's Report
The site is a large and incomplete one which represents land to the west of the spine road through Balthane industrial estate. Previously approval has been granted on this site for extensions to the existing industrial units (PA 04/1704). Now proposed are further extensions and a change of use of the workshops to stores. The previous application for the extensions approved the use of the new buildings as storage. As such there should be no objection to the use of the existing workshops for storage. There is one car parking space per unit.
The new extension will be to the north of the western block of new units and will provide a further 160 square metres of floorspace: ten further parking spaces will be provided.
There are no objections to this application and the proposal will provide more, small scale industrial units which are generally in demand throughout the Island.
