This was a retrospective application for the installation of a steel roller shutter door on the rear gable end of a building at a scrap yard on Main Road, Foxdale. The site is located at the southern end of Foxdale village alongside the A3. The case officer recommended a split decision, but the Planning Committee, which determined the application, resolved to permit it. One condition was attached to the permission. A site observation noted that the difference in level between the ground and the door in the rear elevation amounted to only one step up, which appeared to be a minor practical consideration in the assessment.
