Department Of Local Government And The Environment ### Memorandum To: JENNIFER CHANCE From: CHRIS BALMER Subject: EXTENSION OF TIME Date: 01/04/10 --- RE:- Erection of two four storey blocks, each block containing eight flats - 04/02308/B - St Olaves Kitchen Garden, Bowring Road, Ramsey Under article 12 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 23005 the Department has the power to extend the duration of a planning application provided there are special circumstances to justify a longer period. A request has again been made to now seek a further extension of time of an application which was initially granted approval on the 25th May 2005, which initially expired on the 25th May 2009. An extension of time was requested and approved which extended this period by a further 2 year period (expires 25th May 2011). This extension was granted as the applicant advised that work had not commenced due to technical difficulties with the site that required changes to the design specification. This issue where address at this time, which related to the slope of the site and location of the proposed buildings. Since this time the ownership of the site has changed following the previous company being taken off the register of companies. The new owners (Lloyds Banking Group) has applied for the IOM Courts to have the company reinstated, which was granted (26th February). This now allows the development to proceed this calendar year.
