Permission was granted for the conversion of an existing byre at East Loughan, Jurby East into holiday accommodation. The application was decided by the Director of Planning under delegated authority on 21 September 2004. The officer's report noted that the outbuilding sat within the curtilage of a detached property and was already substantially under construction at the time of assessment. Adequate space for car parking was identified as a supporting factor. Three conditions were attached to the approval.

Condition 1
The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
Condition 2
This approval relates to drawing no.s 0362/1/2, 0362/1/5 and 0362/1/6 date stamped the 20th July 2004.
Condition 3
Between the 1st March and 1st October in any one year the holiday accommodation hereby approved must only be used for individual lets, not exceeding four weeks in duration, to bona fide tourists. Outside of this period longer lets to bona fide tourists are permissible.
