Officer's Report
The site represents a plot within the first cul-de-sac of holiday chalets at the top end of Groudle Old Road leading from King Edward Road to Groudle Beach. This cul-de-sac of properties has permission for refurbishment and change of use from holiday accommodation to permanent accommodation (PA 02/1898).
Proposed here is the conversion of the building to an administration office in conjunction with the remaining holiday units below. Also alterations are proposed including a glazed porch extension in a flat roofed form, new doors and access, and a raised parking area behind for car parking and loading. Proposed inside is a laundry and office facilities.
Whilst this unit is not contiguous with the holiday units, it is well positioned for supervision of the holiday units and on the way in and out for those returning keys or picking up information. This appears to have been proposed in the previous application 02/01898 where the admin. office moved from plot 12 to plot 13.
