Reasons For Refusal
Application Ref No: 03/00256/A
The site is in the countryside and it is not zoned for development on the 1982 Development Plan. The erection of a dwelling would be contrary to the land use zoning and also the policies set out in Planning Circular 1/88 "Residential Development - Houses in the Countryside", both of which are in place to protect the countryside from unwarranted development. The proposal would adversely affect the character and appearance of this rural area and weaken the Department's established countryside policies if approved.
This decision was made by the Planning Committee constituted in accordance with Paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 of the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982.
