17 November 2009 · Delegated
39, Groudle Road, Onchan, Isle Of Man, IM3 2ef
The proposal sought to alter and extend a detached bungalow at 39 Groudle Road, Onchan, converting it from a bungalow with roof accommodation into a true two-storey dwelling. The changes would have increased the overall height and altered the position and orientation of the building. 27 The Fairway. Onchan District Commissioners and the occupants of the adjoining property both objected on the same basis.
The application was refused because the development's mass and proximity to No. 27 The Fairway would adversely affect the amenity of its residents. The proposal therefore failed to comply with General Policy 2(g) of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007 and Policy O/RES/P/21 of Planning Circular 1/2000.
