23 February 2009 · Delegated
Hyperbaric Chamber, Peel Road, Douglas, Isle Of Man, IM1 5ed
Permission was granted for an extension to the Hyperbaric Chamber facility on Peel Road, Douglas, Isle of Man, to accommodate a third hyperbaric chamber. The officer considered the proposal acceptable on two main grounds: the works are not readily visible from the surrounding area and would not adversely affect the visual amenities of the locality, and the development would be positioned 8 metres from the River Glass, addressing any concern about proximity to the watercourse. The decision was made by the Acting Senior Planning Officer under delegated authority and was subject to two conditions. The formal decision record lists 2 conditions.
The application was permitted by the Acting Senior Planning Officer under delegated authority. The proposed extension was considered acceptable because the works are not readily visible and would not harm the visual amenities of the area. The development was also found to be an appropriate distance from the nearby River Glass, being set 8 metres away.
