Having to visit Ballakermeen school to complete the assessment for the Isle of Man Tourism department prior to the TT period. I would like to confirm my observations.
Hotel Bell Tents set a very high standard for arrangements for the event.
As well as offering a quality product, it was very pleasing to see the attention being given for their guests both with the facilities provided to the Tents and other services. Availability of facilities had been very well planned and safety aspects (an essential part of any event) were very well provided for with appropriate equipment provided and legal requirements met with regard to such aspects as spacing, fire equipment etc.
Use of part of the school to provide an administrative area was well planned whilst the consideration being given to the local community was also noted.
It is noted that the provision of additional facilities is being considered to further enhance the guest experience upon future occasions. All the very best for the future. Bobby, Hope this will be of help

Quality Grading Report MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR CAMPSITES To be recognised within the Isle of Man Campsite Scheme a property must meet all the minimum entry requirements. As a result of this visit a 1 Star rating has been awarded. All requirements appeared to be well provided at the time of the visit

Hotel Bell Tents is a new venture upon the Island for the duration of the TT Period. The site has been located upon the playing field area of Ballakermeen High School whilst also utilising some of the school building facilities during this time. Many thanks to Bobby for the time given to show the facilities provided both within the Hotel Village and also at the School. A very proactive approach being made with regard to local residents who are being invited to have a look at the facilities provided and services offering to place some of their minds at rest with regard to this first event at this location.
The site, as has been mentioned is located with the grounds of the Ballakermeen School and situated in a generally residential location. The site is however very well placed being within easy distance of the TT course and well located as a base for visiting further parts of the Island and being within easy distance of Douglas and the many hostelries available and for all the other attractions that the area and Island has to offer. Guests benefit from easy access to the location and ample parking provision and with its location gaining from a protected location with lack of open spaces allowing high winds to blow across the Campsite.
A reception facility is provided within the main entrance area to the school with tabling and seating provided for any waiting guests. Bookings have been dealt with directly by Hotel Bell Tents and chosen agents thus ensuring security for all guests. Hotel Bell Tents team members are available at all times to ensure the smooth running of all facilities and services.
Hotel Bells Tents have the benefit of the utilising of the Sports area belonging to Ballakermeen High School with the grass having been well trimmed and all grass cuttings removed. Tents have been well spaced allowing ample movement for guests whilst also being ample for any emergency services should the need arise. Lighting is well provided at the main facilities buildings and the school itself whilst also being able to offer security cameras to add to the guests comfort. Some variance to some of the school buildings and facility buildings whilst all presenting well overall. Ample refuse provision has been provided with a regular service collection arranged. Tents present well and are well spaced and internally create a very good impression with beds well laid out and presented and internal area creating a very good impression and with ample illumination for the guests.
Arrangements for this aspect have been well provided for. The school showers are available for the guests of Hotel Bell Tents to utilise with these communal facilities and changing facilities presenting well. Toilet and washing facilities are also provided within the school buildings whilst a separate area is provided for the guests use during the night hours when the school itself is closed.
Guests benefit from further facilities provided at the School. The Schools excellent commercial kitchens are being utilised to provide a breakfast food provision during the period with the refectory area also provided for the guests use. All the very best for this first visit to the Isle of Man. It is hoped that all goes well.
Guests benefit from the very useful provision of the leisure barn with a breakfast catering provision offered in the one area whilst upon the opposite side, the provision of kettles, toasters, microwaves and fridges allows guests to prepare their own food and drinks. Ample provision of quality tabling noted.
A provision of phone charging is also available whilst the location also provided Wi Fi for the guests.
Entertainment in the form of Pool Tables and football table and table tennis offers further facilities for the guests.
A wash room facility is provided with hair dryers noted. A number of washing up sinks provided whilst the provision of draining racks could be considered to offer a separation between wet/ dry and dirty and clean items.
V.I.P camping available whilst Undercover bike storage also available.
