Highway Services Comment made Defer - awaiting information Highways Representation history for this case. DEFER on 23-8-18 Conditions (if any)
The proposed north elevation plan shows that the proposed storage building would have 2 roller shutter doors. It would provide an additional industrial floor area of 43sqm. The parking standards in 'The Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2016' require 1 car parking space per 100sqm for storage and distribution use. 1 space should be provided to comply with the parking standards but no additional site parking would be created as part of the proposals. From google 2018 aerial images it appears that the storage building would be located where there is currently site parking. The applicant should therefore provide existing and proposed scale site plans showing the parking layout to demonstrate that there would be no loss of site parking as a result of the development, and relocate any affected spaces elsewhere on the site as necessary. Car parking spaces should be at least 2.5m x 5m with a 6m aisle width to facilitate turning movements into and out of the bays. Highway Services request that the application is deferred to allow the applicant to consider the above
