The house is of modern construction, built with cavity walls with red face bricks and some pebble dash to the walls at first floor level. The house is situated on the Harcroft Meadow estate and it is typical in design and appearance of the majority of houses located on the estate.
Details of the Proposed Development;
It is proposed to build an extension above the existing attached garage to provide an extra bedroom, which will be accessed from the landing area at the top of the existing staircase.
The new extension will match the appearance of the existing house as it will be finished with pebble dash to match the existing first floor house walls, with some red face bricks below which will also match the existing house walls.
The roof will be finished with grey concrete tiles to match the existing house roof. The new windows will be in white upvc, to match the existing windows.
Reasons to Support the Application: The new bedroom is required by the applicants to allow space for their family. The appearance of the extension will match the existing house and it will blend in well with the overall design of the house without being in any way obtrusive.
