Planning Statement for proposed works at 113 Royal Avenue, Onchan
The Applicant's wife, Mrs Logan, is in the process of retiring from her position as a hair stylist at a local hair dressing salon, but some of her existing clients have expressed the wish that she continues to cut their hair after she has left the salon, which is the purpose of making this Application.
It is proposed to change the use of a first floor room in Mr and Mrs Logan's house from a bedroom into a facility where Mrs Logan can cut and style her clients' hair. No alterations would be required to the room apart from the installation of a wash hand basin and vanity unit.
Mrs Logan intends to operate the facility between 10:00am and 04:00pm and only one person at a time would be visiting the house. An off-road parking space is available for those visitors during the day who choose not to arrive on foot, which is in addition to the parking space normally used by Mrs Logan, and there are two bus stops outside the house on opposite sides of the road for those visitors who wish to use public transport.
The Applicant is submitting this Application on behalf of his wife as she does not want to give the impression that she will be in competition with the salon when she retires.
