6 December 2022 · Committee
Luss House, 14, Patrick Street, Peel, Isle Of Man, IM5 1br
Permission was granted for an extension over a raised patio area at the rear of Luss House, 14 Patrick Street, Peel, Isle of Man. The extension would create a roof terrace with storage space underneath. The officer report identified three main planning considerations: whether the proposal met the relevant statutory test, its effect on the character and appearance of the area, and its impact on neighbouring amenity. It was noted that the store room and staircase would not be visible from a public vantage point, although the glass balustrade forming part of the roof terrace would be. The application was approved on 6 December 2022, subject to two conditions, with the officer also recommending approval.
The application was approved by the Director of Planning and Building Control on 6 December 2022. Officers considered the proposal acceptable in terms of its character and appearance, and its impact on neighbouring amenity. The store room and staircase would not be visible from a public vantage point, though the glass balustrade would be, and this was taken into account in the assessment.
