At the present time, the field in question, is managed grassland, with a small section set aside for apple trees and a further area for growing vegetables for family use.
This planning application is necessary for us to provide suitable, safe, accommodation for two donkeys, which we have recently agreed to purchase and also to provide suitable storage for feed and agricultural equipment, required for the continuous maintenance of the land. This is not a commercial enterprise in any way.
The stable block, to which this application applies, has been designed specifically, in line with Planning Policy and comments from our closest neighbours. Great thought and care has been given to the siting, size and finish of the building, to negate any impact on our neighbours and general public, travelling along Arragon Lane, but also to ensure the development is not detrimental in any way to the character and appearance of the countryside. The building design also ensures that the materials used, reflect the specific purpose of the development.
A number of our neighbours keep donkeys and have built stables on their own land, so this proposed development would be in keeping with the local area.
As the welfare of the animals is of paramount importance, the current owner has agreed to look after them for us, until successful completion of this process.
