Officer's Report
The Site
The site represents the footprint of public conveniences situated to the rear of the railway sheds, behind Darnill's Garage in Port Erin within the car and coach park. The building is a basic one tucked in the corner of the car park with the ladies on the eastern side of the building and the men's and disabled facilities on the west. The access to the ladies and disabled person's toilet are around a rendered wall.
Planning Status
The site lies within an area of Car Park on the Port Erin Local Plan.
Planning History
Alterations to the toilets were permitted under PA 84/0099.
The Proposal
Proposed is the removal of part of the wing wall alongside the access to the disabled person's toilet to facilitate access to this part of the building.
Representations
Port Erin Commissioners and Department of Transport Highways and Traffic Division indicate that they have no objections to the application.
Assessment
The proposed change is very minor, will not affect the building and will make access to the disabled toilet easier.
Party Status
The Department of Transport and the local authority are, by virtue of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2005, paragraph 6 (5) (c) and (d), considered "interested persons" and as such should be afforded party status.
