Planning Committee Refusal Notice
Application Ref. No: 08/01707/B
Ref: CD/PC/AA
Town and Country Planning Act 1999
Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
Penketh - Millar 23 West Quay Ramsey Isle Of Man IM8 1DL
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the PLANNING COMMITTEE of the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mr & Mrs G Cooper Proposal: Erection of a replacement dwelling at: Ballabeg Farm, St Judes Road, Andreas, Isle Of Man, IM7 3HF
which was considered on 30th January 2009, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 3rd February 2009
Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas
Deputy Secretary to the Planning Committee
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- It is considered the design, scale and massing of the proposed dwelling would be inappropriate in this location, and therefore detrimental to the visual appearance of the countryside.
- The floor area of the existing building would represent a substantial increase from that of the existing structure. Therefore, it is considered there are insufficient reasons to justify such a considerable departure from Housing Policy 14 as stated within the Isle of Man Strategic Plan, which would be required to approve this application.
This decision was made by the Planning Committee constituted in accordance with Article 3(1) of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
