RECEIVED
Ms J Callow Secretary to the Planning Committee Office of Planning Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas.
Dear Ms Callow
Rushen Parish Commissioners have considered the following Planning Applications and their views are:-
a) 08/1343. Ballarock, Ballakillowey. Mr A Costain. Proposed link extension. No objections.
b) 08/1404. Ballasherlogue, Ballakilpheric Road. Mrs S Cashmore. Erection of garden implement store. No objections - however, could you please check whether the new exit/entrance onto the main road, near to the shed, has had planning approval?
c) 08/1415. Ballafesson Farmhouse. Mr T D Radcliffe. Installation of solar hot water panel on roof. No objections.
d) 08/1470. Ballafesson Methodist Church Hall. Fitting of replacement white PVC windows. No objections.
e) 08/1468. 6 The Chase, Ballakillowey. D H Harrington. Install Solfex high performance evacuated tube collectors on roof - 2 on east side, 2 on west side. No objections.
f) 08/1559. Glen Dale, Glen Chass Road, Mr \& Mrs Collins. Alterations and extensions. Whilst there are no objections at present it is noted that this property has been very badly designed in a hotch-potch manner and the proposed extensions will not improve the situation. There is concern about the impact of the heavy construction vehicles on this narrow lane, especially as there are mine-workings in the area and the road has shown signs of collapsing in places - perhaps the Department of Transport should be consulted about that particular aspect. I believe some of the neighbours will be writing to you as they are concerned that, if these extension are built on 'concrete rafts' (as the existing seem to have been because of the mine workings), the many underground streams may be diverted onto the dwellings opposite and which are lower down the slope of the land. They are also concerned about the impact of construction traffic.
Yours faithfully Gillian Kelly (Mrs) Clerk
