The Site
The siting of the proposed is on land adjacent to Mill Cottage within the Milntown Estate. The metre cupboard will be located on an existing garden wall to the left hand side of the Milntown Estate entrance gates off Glen Auldyn Road, Ramsey. Milntown Estate is registered, (RB 168).

Proposed here is the construction of a meter cupboard in painted timber top house the new, three phase electricity supply to the Milntown Estate.

Assessment
As the property is a Registered Building (RB 168) the content of this application has been considered with particular regard to POLICY RB/5 ALTERATIONS AND EXTENSIONS as set out within Planning Policy Statement 1/01.
That proposed is the construction of a painted timber metre cupboard for the electrical supply to the estate. In consultation with the applicant, the metre cupboard has been so designed and located as to appear to be part of the paraphernalia associated with the garden works found elsewhere in the estate. For these reasons, that proposed is acceptable.
Recommendation
Recommend approval of this application.
