This application sought permission for alterations and extensions to Ballavale Farmhouse, Santon, as an amendment to a development already approved under reference 07/01422/B. The proposed changes included erection of decking on the western elevation, alterations to the space on the eastern side of the property alongside the garage, a slight outward extension at first floor level on the western elevation, and a change to the rear roof structure from hipped to gable ends. Internally, a room previously approved as a sitting room was revised to become a kitchen and living room. The property is a detached dwelling, formerly an agricultural dwelling, situated to the south of the A5 Castletown Road. Nearby farm buildings had permission for conversion to a dwelling, with works already underway at the time. The application was decided by delegated authority and was permitted on 26 June 2008.
