Dear Miss Callow, Rushen Parish Commissioners have considered the following planning applications and their views are:- a) 08/0332. Upper Kirkhill, Ballakilpheric. Mr & Mrs Berry. Erection and repositioning stable block away from house.
The Board feels that such a large building should be kept within the curtilage of the existing buildings. Upper Kirkle is very prominent on the hillside and any developments should take this into account. It is presumed that this building, situated away from the dwelling, may be for use as a 'do-it-yourself' livery, there being 6+ stalls, kitchen, toilet and first aid, electricity and telephone. If that was the case there could be several cars coming and going every day - sometimes twice a day - with the resultant impact of cars parked around this large building. There is no indication on the plans what is surrounding the proposed building - hardstanding/concrete, etc.
They would recommend refusal and suggest that the applicant be advised to re-site it nearer the dwelling.
b) 08/0316. Bridge House, Surby. Mr A Crowther. Two storey extension to the rear of the existing property to accommodate new kitchen, bathroom and bedroom areas.
The Board have no objections to this. The are, however, concerned that the plans seem to show that the proposed kitchen extension will be built over an existing manhole.
c) 08/0413. Fuschia Cottage, Ballakilpheric Road. J Reynolds. Siting of oil tank to replace bulk gas tank, removed prior to building renovation and extension. No objections.
