Department Of Local Government And The Environment ### Memorandum To: Ian McCauley From: Chris Balmer Subject: Condition Date: 25/02/09 --- #### Erection of stables - 07/02268/B - Field 134117, St Judes Road, Sulby Condition 4 of the approved application stated that:- > "No development shall take place until full details of a landscaping scheme along the western boundary of the site, showing additional planting to screen the proposed stable block shall have been submitted to and be approved in writing by the Planning Authority and these works shall be carried out as approved. All planting shall be carried out in accordance with the approved details in the next available planting and seeding seasons. Any tree or shrub which within a period of 5 years from the completion of the landscaping works, is removed, or becomes seriously damaged or diseased shall be replaced in the next planting season with another similar size and species, unless the planning authority gives written consent to any variation." The applicant has submitted a landscaping scheme which has already been implemented by the planting of 10 well grown alder and silver birch trees directly behind the stables, adjacent to the public highway. Visiting the site, the new trees which have been planted will help reduce the appearance of the stables and it is considered together with the existing landscaping in place, the landscaping scheme is considered acceptable for the needs of the development.
