This application sought permission to change the use of an existing summer house or chalet at 2 Knocksharry Cottages, Ramsey Road, Peel, Isle of Man, into a beauty salon. The Department will continue to treat proposals for re-use positively, where they comply with current policy guidance namely Environment Policy 16 and Environment Policy 17, set out in the Isle of Man Strategic Plan, 2007. Manx National Heritage is likely to seek recording of such buildings and farmsteads prior to redevelopment and particular regard should be had to the Isle of Man Strategic Plan - Environment Policy 41 - in this respect.
Condition 1
The use must be taken up within four years of the date of this notice in order for this approval to remain valid after that time.
Condition 2
This permission relates to the use of the summer house as shown in the plans and drawings submitted on 25th October, 2007 for the purposes of a beauty salon, operated in association with the occupation of 2, Knocksharry Cottages.
Condition 3
The salon may be operational only between the hours of 0900hrs and 1800hrs Monday to Friday (with one evening each week where appointments may be taken up to 2100hrs) and 0900hrs to 1300hrs on Saturdays and at no time on Sundays.
