Clover Cottage, Main Road, Sulby, Isle Of Man, IM7 2hf
The proposal was for a detached garage/store and garden shed at Clover Cottage on the southern side of Main Road, west of the Sulby Bridge. The refusal was based on concerns that the development would over-develop the site and that the plans were out of proportion to the plot. The decision also noted that the proposed buildings would be too close to the Mill Race. In addition, the garage/store was considered unacceptable due to its siting, size, height and prominent location, which was judged likely to create an unduly prominent and incongruous feature in the locality.
Planning permission was refused for the detached garage/store and garden shed. The decision cited that the layout and scale would over-develop the site and be out of proportion to the plot. It also found the buildings would be too close to the Mill Race and that the garage/store, because of its siting and appearance, would be an unduly prominent and incongruous feature.
