Permission was granted for the construction of a glazed lift enclosure and link conservatory on the north west elevation of The Malt House and Cottage, Bridge Street, Castletown. The site consists of two properties — The Malt House and Cottage — which are not internally connected and share access only through the rear yard. The Malt House is described as a fine building with substantial chimney stacks, situated on the north eastern side of Bridge Street with other buildings on both sides and the grounds of Lorne House to the rear. The application was handled under delegated authority and the officer recommended approval. Permission was granted on 1 October 2007, subject to two conditions.
The application was permitted by the Director of Planning and Building Control under delegated authority. The officer recommended approval and no conflicts with the decision were identified.
Condition 1
The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.
Condition 2
This permission relates to the alterations and installation of a conservatory and lift all as shown in drawings reference 06/2167/01, -02, -03 and -04 all received on 17th August, 2007.
