The Site
The application site represents the cartilage of 19 Close Corneil, Port Erin. The property is a single storey detached bungalow located towards the top of the cul-de-sac.
Planning Status
The application site is located within an area identified as being Predominantly Residential use by the Port Erin Local Plan. The site is not within a Conservation Area.
Planning History
There are no previous applications considered relevant to the assessment and determination of this application.
Representations
The Department of Transport Highways Division makes no comment on this application. Port Erin Commissioners recommend that this application be approved. We have received no privately written representations.
The Proposal
This application seeks approval to install double doors to the rear elevation in place of an existing window and to brick up an existing side door entrance.
Assessment
The proposed double doors would replace an existing window serving the dining kitchen and as such it is not considered that any additional overlooking would occur as a result of this proposal. The proposed doors would be in-keeping with the existing property in terms of materials and design. There would be little visual impact associated with the bricking up of the side door and as such the development as proposed is considered to be acceptable.
Recommendation
It is recommended that this application be approved.
