This application sought permission to change the use of parts of a field from agricultural to residential, to extend the curtilage of Gardenfield, a large bungalow on Malew Road in Castletown. The site included two parcels of land immediately alongside the existing residential plot, situated to the west of Malew Road and to the south of Malew FC ground. The application was approved by the Director of Planning and Building Control on 15 June 2007 under delegated authority. Four conditions were attached to the permission.
The Director of Planning and Building Control approved the application under delegated authority. The proposal involved extending the residential curtilage of Gardenfield by incorporating two adjacent parcels of agricultural land alongside the existing bungalow plot.

Condition 1
The use must be taken up within four years of the date of this notice in order for this approval to remain valid after that time.
Condition 2
This permission relates to the extension of the garden of Gardenfield into the two areas edged in red on plan reference 07/15/01 received on 20th April, 2007.
Condition 3
Notwithstanding the provisions of the Town and Country Planning (Permitted Development) Order 2005 (or any Order revoking or re-enacting that Order) no extensions, greenhouses, walls, gates, fences, garden sheds, summerhouses, flag poles, decking, garages, or tanks for the storage of oil for domestic heating shall be erected (other than those expressly authorised by this approval.)
Condition 4
The edge of the new garden area must be formed by new shrub and tree planting to complement that already existing around Gardenfield. Prior to the take up of the use of the new areas of garden, a landscaping and planting scheme must be approved by the Planning Authority and the planting introduced in accordance with that scheme prior to the use of the new areas as garden.
