The present application is for alteration to the existing field gates to Church Road, Port St Mary from Field Nos. 414215 and 411497.
The proposal seeks to provide the following:
- Enhanced visibility exiting the fields.
- Safe off road space before the gate for a vehicle/tractor entering and exiting the fields.
- Cattle/sheep grids from the fields.
Damage has been suffered to the stone walls/piers immediately adjacent to the present gates from vehicles/tractors and the proposal in providing a wider entry to the field will improve road safety as it will be possible to drive a vehicle off the road prior to operating the gate and similarly on entering the main road.
A meeting has been held on site with Mr D Sewell of the Department of Transport to explain the proposals.
