25 February 2022 · Committee
Public Open Space, Auldyn Meadow Drive, Ramsey, Isle Of Man, IM8 2tr
Permission was granted for the creation of a fenced children's playground with play equipment on a parcel of undeveloped land at Auldyn Meadow Drive, Ramsey. The site sits in a central location within the Auldyn Meadow Drive area and was originally allocated as Public Open Space when the estate was developed. During the application process, the scheme was amended to include a new path running from the north-western to the south-eastern corner of the site, connecting with existing estate footpaths. Additional tree planting around the play area and hedgerow planting along the northern and eastern boundaries were also added, in response to concerns about site access and the highway. The committee concluded that the proposal would not cause significant harm to neighbouring or visual amenities, and that it complied with the relevant planning policies of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan and the Ramsey Local Plan Order 1998.
The committee approved the application on 25 February 2022. It was considered that the proposal would not have significant adverse impacts on public or private amenities and would comply with relevant planning policies. The scheme was also amended during the process to address concerns about pathways across the site and access onto the highway. The formal decision record lists 2 conditions.
