Officer's Report
Planning approval is sought to replace existing timber casement windows at Apple Garth, Patrick Road, St John’s, with upvc casement windows.
The property is a detached cottage, located adjacent to the road. The dwelling is outside the proposed Conservation Area, and the designated boundary of St Johns, and is therefore taken to be located in open countryside.
Although it would be preferable that timber frame sliding sash windows were installed in the property, given its location, and the fact that the proposed windows would improve the appearance of the dwelling, I consider the proposal to be acceptable.
